Kurt’s eyes widened. “You have got to be kidding me.” He edged closer. “…Doctor?” The shorter boy’s eyes lit up. Kurt launched himself at the Doctor, who caught him, holding on to him tightly. Kurt broke the hug. “Where the hell have you been?” he said furiously. The Doctor looked offended. “What? I’ve been gone for 24 hours.” Kurt laughed humorlessly. “Try 24 weeks.” He mimicked the Doctor’s voice. “Oh, don’t mind me, Kurt, just have to pop off and take care of some things, why don’t you spend some time with your dad.” He hugged himself. “And then you never came back.” “Ah,” said the Doctor, rubbing his neck. “Sometimes that does happen.” “And now I guess you just expect me to hop right back into the TARDIS with you,” finished Kurt. “Well. Yes,” said the Doctor. “It’s all of time and space, Kurt. Don’t you trust me?” “I do. I did. I don’t know. You’re different.” “Same bowtie,” said the Doctor. “Same man. I promise. Come on. Let’s run away.”
